About Me

Master of Arts in Piano Performance | Vocal Coach, Accompanist & Music Director

My Coaching Philosophy: Precision, Strategy, and Artistry

I do not view music education as a rigid, one-way lecture; I view it as a high-level creative partnership. Whether you are working with me online or in-person, my goal as your coach is to provide the immediate strategic clarity, advanced technical tools, and performance psychology you need to shatter your plateaus. Drawing from over two decades of professional experience as a classical pianist, vocal coach, and musical director in New York City, my coaching framework is built upon three core pillars designed to fast-track your musical growth.

Elite Academic Foundations

My training combines a rigorous study of piano pedagogy with high-level performance. I hold a Master of Arts in Piano Performance (graduating with a 3.9 GPA) and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (Cum Laude) from Hunter College, The City University of New York, where I was honored with several academic awards, scholarships, and won the prestigious concerto-aria competition. I also hold an Associate of Arts in Composition and Music from Kobe Yamate Women's Junior College. This deep foundation in performance and composition allows me to analyze music from the inside out, giving my students a comprehensive understanding of the pieces they play.

From the NYC Stage to Your Studio

Collaborative Piano & Vocal Coaching: I have served as a collaborative pianist for world-class artists and institutions, including the Ron Raines Voice Studio, the International Vocal Arts Institutes, the Opera Company of Brooklyn, and as an adjunct accompanist for Hunter College.

An exceptional coach must understand the reality of live performance. My career has spanned elite collaborative spaces, academic institutions, and theatrical productions across New York City:

Musical Direction & Choral Leadership: My experience includes serving as the music director for the Japanese American United Church, conducting youth ensembles like the Arch Diocesan Youth Choir and the New Amsterdam Boys and Girls Choir, and working as a cover pianist/music director for the Off-Broadway production of Molasses in January.

Movement & Ballet: To truly understand rhythm and physical grace, I spent years as a staff accompanist for the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet.

A Global, Multi-System Approach to Teaching

I believe that every student learns differently, which is why my instructional methods are highly adaptive. I hold certified licenses to teach both the Yamaha Music Education System and Kindermusik, and I am a trained Pace Method instructor.

Furthermore, because vocal artistry requires a deep connection to language, I bring an extensive knowledge of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) alongside working proficiency in basic Italian, German, French, and Spanish. As a bilingual educator fluent in both English and Japanese, I am proud to welcome a diverse, global community of students to my studio, whether we meet online or in person.

I look forward to partnering with you, sharing the insights
I’ve gained from decades on the professional stage,
and helping you unlock your true artistic potential.
